Areas of Coaching for your career & business

A coaching programme is tailored to you, some clients prefer a structured programme, other prefer the space to reflect, talk things through and gain different perspectives. It starts with an assessment of what you need and usually includes profiling. There are some common areas that I frequently work on with my clients. These include, but are not limited to:

Career transformation

Our starting point might be a complete career change, a promotion, or finding a new job after redundancy. We explore the career path that is aligned with who you are, your values, your strengths, and your purpose, map the route and start the journey to a fulfilling career.

Performance

To get that promotion or developing yourself in your current role, you may need to develop skills like public speaking or strategies to manage your time and organise your work. Interpersonal dynamics can also be challenging, and coaching can help to develop the skills you emotional and social intelligence you need. The accountability coaching offers can also be very beneficial.

Executive & Leadership development

Leadership is complex. Being a leader can be an incredibly rewarding but challenging and lonely journey. In the current climate of constant uncertainty and change, developing your capacity as a leader from the inside out is essential to be able to respond and adapt to complex situations with courage and compassion.

Mental & Emotional wellbeing

Wellbeing at work is no luxury or nice to have. You may be experiencing stress, anxiety and overwhelm or you feel like work is an uphill battle, and want to get back on track. Other examples could be growing your confidence, self-esteem or challenges with relationships.  

On the emotional side, it could be dealing with negative emotions and traumatic experiences in the workplace, for example experiencing bullying.

Anti-Burnout

Anti-burnout coaching is not just to cope with the stress and exhaustion. It is about making the changes that are at the root of burnout. The program is tailored to you and designed to help you identify and resolve the triggers, and get to the root cause so that you can re-align, re-connect, evolve and future-proof yourself against burnout. We will also explore different aspects of your work, life and what really matters to you so that you live and work on purpose.

Business

You may be at a point in your career that you are considering starting a business or developing your side hustle into the next step in your career. You may also be further along the line in your business, growing your team, and taking it to the next level.

Personality, leadership & Emotional Intelligence profiling

Most coaching programmes will include profiling. This could be a Personality and/or emotional Intelligence profile, and a leadership profile and/or 360. You will receive a report and a feedback session in addition to your coaching sessions. We currently use:

  • PsyTech 15FQ+
  • PsyCap Leadership Capability assessment

I am a qualified RQTU registered Test User for Personality and Ability testing. Psychometrics (personality and ability testing) are also available as a stand-alone service.

Hi, I'm Jo

I’m passionate about work, the kind that is life-giving and fully aligned with who you are. The kind of work that feels doesn’t feel like work. After all, we’re human beings, not human doings. The reality, however, is that many people are just surviving at work, not thriving. That is a lot of potential unexpressed. My passion for human potential at work has led me to become an Organisational Psychologist. I have crafted my own work portfolio which includes coaching, counselling/therapy and organisational consulting.

I bring 25+ years of work experience to the table. My background is in HR, recruitment, training, management and leadership, entrepreneurship, customer service and marketing. I have worked in SME, retail, corporate and public sector environments as well as running my own businesses since the 90’s. Although I have been coaching for over 20 years, my private therapy and coaching practice started in 2011.

As a coach, my style is eclectic. My coaching is informed by many different psychological theories and perspectives, models, tools and modalities I have amassed over the years. I tailor my approach for each client because one size doesn’t fit all. I see the coaching relationship as collaborative, we work together to achieve the best possible outcome for you as my client. My clients range from graduates to professionals, new managers to senior executives and CEOs to entrepreneurs. Some will approach me directly, and others are sponsored by their employer.
